Returning to Church

COVID-Update.jpg

Council has decided to re-open our church for worship in a limited way. Starting Sunday, September 13, our worship service can include up to approximately 40 parishioners plus Pastor Jason, the audio and visual operators, the worship team, and ushers, so that the maximum number of people is 50 or fewer.

This will not be a worship service as we know it. Parishioners will in effect be observing the livestreaming of the worship service. COVID-19 protocols must be followed. Council asks that everyone in attendance abide by these protocols for their own well-being, the well-being of others in attendance, and also for our Christian witness in Ladner.

Protocols:

  • Pre-registering will be required (see more below).

  • Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the worship service begins (10:15 am).

  • Enter the church via the door to the parking lot. Wait just inside the entrance for an usher.

  • Physical distancing should be observed at all times: 6 feet or 2 meters apart.

  • Use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the building.

  • An usher will lead each person/family from the entrance to a designated pew, seating from the front of the church to the rear.

  • Every second pew (or as indicated by the usher) will be used with sufficient space between individuals/ families in the pew.

  • Face masks are highly recommended and should be worn properly (nose and mouth covered). Every person school-aged and older is encouraged to wear a face mask while in the building.

  • Singing during the worship service is not permitted. The worship team, however, will be singing and playing instruments which we trust will make this as full a worship experience as possible. Listen, reflect, hum along. (We know that it will be difficult to refrain from singing, but singing is the easiest way to spread droplets containing the virus even with a face mask.)

  • Please do not talk once you are seated or during the worship service because our live-streaming microphones are very sensitive.

  • At the end of the service, you will be ushered out one of the front sanctuary doors. Do not congregate outside the exit doors or in the parking lot.

  • No socializing in the foyer or other parts of the church before or after the service. There will be no coffee or food served.

  • Church washrooms will be designated for emergency purposes only. Please use your own bathroom before leaving home.

  • At this time, there will not be childcare in the nursery or Sunday School/KidsLIfe.

Pre-registering:

  • You must contact the church office by Friday noon prior to the worship service you wish to attend.

  • Please register via phone (604-946-7033) or email (office@ladnercrc.com).

  • Attendance will be on a first come, first served basis.

  • If a worship service is full, other registrants will be put on the list for the following Sunday.

  • If you are feeling unwell, your health has been compromised, or you have had any possible contact with COVID-19, please do not attend even if you are registered.

Any changes to these regulations will be posted on our website.

We thank our congregation for your support in complying with COVID-19 protocols. It is our hope that we may still worship in our sanctuary in a meaningful, God-honouring way, along with those worshipping via live-streaming from home.
